Statement of the MEP of KKE, Th. Pafilis

Thanasis Pafilis, the MEP of the Communist Party of Greece(KKE) and General Secretary of the World Peace Council (WPC), considers the Regulation of the European Council as an effort to contribute to the legalization of the American- inspired  "International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia (ICTY)". Speaking at the Plenary Session of the European Parliament he stated that the MEPs of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) are going to vote against it. He also suggested that there should be an end to this parody, and called for the dissolution of the so-called `Tribunal´ and the liberation of Slobodan Milosevic.

Apart from that he stressed that:

 "The war of NATO and the EU in Yugoslavia was unfair, aggressive, and against the International Law and the principles of the Charter of the UN.

 It caused the death of thousands of innocent people and enormous destructions. It also put Kosovo under occupation and resulted in the dissolution of Yugoslavia and the imperialist intervention in the Balkans.

 Those who should have been judged for crimes against the humanity are the leaders of NATO that attacked an independent member-State of the UN.

The Regulation of the Council presented for voting in the E.P. today, reinforces the effort to legalise the American- inspired Court, which constitutes a parody. A solid proof of that is the constant and repeated violation of Milosevic's rights.

 As the trial goes on it becomes obvious that fake decisions have already been taken in order to cover those who are really guilty.

The Decisions of the so-called ICTY are not being accepted  by he peoples which are alone responsible to judge their leaders and to judge their accusations.

This parody has to stop! The so- called 'Tribunal' should be dissolved and Milosevic should be liberated."
